International registration

Protection of your trademark outside Brazil, through the Madrid Protocol or by direct filing in the destination country.

What you need to know

Trademark registration is territorial: the Brazilian certificate is valid in Brazil. Anyone who exports, sells on international marketplaces or plans to franchise abroad needs protection in each territory of interest.

Regicenter has handled international registrations since 2012 and has representatives in several countries. The route depends on the destination: the Madrid Protocol allows a single application, with fees in Swiss francs, designating several countries; in territories outside the system, filing is made directly through a local agent. The Paris Convention guarantees six months of priority from the Brazilian filing.

What Regicenter does

How it works

Step 1 of 4
Destination map

We define in which countries the trademark needs protection, by current market and expansion plan.

Step 2 of 4
Choosing the route

Madrid for countries in the system, direct filing for the rest. The fee estimate is presented first.

Step 3 of 4
Filing

Application filed at INPI as office of origin or directly in the destination country.

Step 4 of 4
Follow-up

Requirements, oppositions and grants are tracked with each office, with reports to you.

Process handled by the unit in your region. Deadlines and fees follow INPI’s official publications.
